I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I know, I know, it’s just TV, Melinda. Calm down, Melinda. Well I just can’t! When I got that email asking me to do a potential TV interview on Fox 5, I was in before I even know what I would be speaking about! In the end, we decided on a segment about the Jewish holidays and a food demonstration to teach the world (well, anyone watching Fox 5 at 6 am on a Saturday morning or watching the archived segment now) how to make my Pomegranate Brisket Tacos.

I had such a great time preparing the set for my segment. The Fox 5 interns took tons of pictures to share on Twitter while we talked about blogging, cooking and what they wanted to do with their lives. I even got my make-up done before we went on air! Who doesn’t love a little pampering, right?!?
Then the fun really began! The host of Good Day Street Talk, Antwan Lewis, made me feel very comfortable on set and as you can tell from the pictures, we had a great time! He helped me shred the brisket (taking bites along the way) as we talked about my family, the Jewish holidays and how to cook the perfect sweet and tangy brisket low and slow.
What a great day! I hope I get more opportunities like this in the future. I felt very comfortable on television and I am ready for my own cooking show! Now to come up with a concept…
